Product Description

Glacier Tanks pressure gauges, manufactured by REOTEMP, are specially designed for use in food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotech applications. They come liquid-filled to dampen rapid pressure changes that could damage internal workings and extend the life of the gauge. All of our gauges come with a SS316 MNPT 1/4 inch connection allowing a wide compatiblity with other equipment.

    • 2.5 inch Diameter 304SS Case
    • 1.5% of Scale Accuracy
    • ANSI B1.20.1 MNPT 1/4 inch 316SS Conection
    • Shatter Resistent Acrylic Gauge Lens
    • All 300 Series internal construction
    • Per ASME B40-100, Proof Pressure 130% of Scale

Notes & Installation Instructions

Bottom mount vacuum/pressure gauges are often attached to monitor system or vessel pressure. Because gauge needle does not have a zero stop, a no-pressure reading can be +/- 1-2 PSI. We recommend either a Teflon tape or more permanent liquid to seal the gauge.

Gauge accuracy is maintained only in a temperature range of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C), any measurement made outside of this range cannot be guaranteed accurate and may lead to malfunction. Gauges that have a +/- 3-2-3% accuracy is categorized as ASME B40.100 Grade B, meaning that the lower and upper 1/4 of the scale has 3% accuracy and the middle 1/2 is 2% accurate.

To return gauge to zero after shipping, equalize the pressure using the rubber glycerin cap. This cap can either be pushed to the side to break the seal temporarily and allow the gauge to take in air, or leak some glycerin to return to zero. Or you can snip the tip of the cap per the instruction on the sticker when it is permanently installed so it will maintain zero. Gauge zero will move up and down with the local atmospheric pressure, so if cap is left un-trimmed, zeroing may need to be done periodically. The stainless steel case is filled with glycerin to protect the internals against vibration and pulsation. This prevents needle chatter and it is normal for a bubble to be in the fluid.
